Today the "Ärzteblatt Mecklenburg-Vorpommern" reports on "C-reactive protein - inflammatory marker, trigger for necrosis and therapeutic target". This is a further milestone in gaining attention and appreciation by the medical profession in Germany.
Among other things the article states: „In recent years the understanding of the acute phase protein CRP has shifted from being a molecule indicating inflammation to being an amplifier of ischemic and necrotic processes. (Kunze, 2019; doi: 10.1111/1744-9987.12802). Hereby, CRP is redefined as a therapeutic target, especially during acute inflammation."
