The Journal of Clinical Medicine recently published an article on CRP in cardiovascular events which we were involved in.

Excerpt from the abstract: "Recently, C-reactive protein (CRP) was shown to affect intracellular calcium signaling and blood pressure in vitro and in vivo, respectively. The aim of the present study was to further investigate if a direct effect on G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling by CRP can be observed."

These receptor (i.e. for adrenaline, angiotensin or endothelin) are crucial for cardiovascular functions. So it is remarkable that apparently high levels of CRP have a negative impact on them.
