ntv has broadcast an interview with Dr. Ahmed Sheriff about CRP apheresis for COVID-19 patients. Among other things, they talk about the lack of funding for medical devices in the Corona Pandemic.

Since the PentraSorb^® CRP adsorber for CRP apheresis is a medical device, it has not yet been possible to obtain funding for a necessary clinical trial. The focus of the German government has so far only been on vaccines and drugs.
